Privacy Policy

When you create an account we store your email address, your name if you provide one, your plan and your search credit history. Payments are handled by Square — TapScout never sees or stores your card details.

We store the searches you run and the businesses you save so you can return to them. Business information comes from the official Google Places API. TapScout does not scrape Google Maps.

We measure how the website is used with our own first-party analytics. There are no third-party advertising or tracking cookies, and your activity is never sold or shared with advertising networks.

For each visit or action we record:

• the page visited and the action taken, with the date and time
• the site or campaign that referred you
• your device type and browser
• an approximate city, region and country estimated from your network connection — this is a rough estimate only and is never an exact address
• a random anonymous visitor and session identifier stored in your own browser

We do not store your IP address. It is used only in the moment of the request to estimate the approximate location above, and it is discarded immediately. Anonymous activity is only linked to your account after you sign in. Staff visits and automated bots are excluded from these reports.

To stop repeated free-trial abuse we keep one-way scrambled fingerprints of network and device signals. They cannot be turned back into an IP address or a person, and a shared household or office network is never blocked on its own. If you believe you were flagged in error, contact us and we will review it.

You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account and its records at any time by emailing support@gettapscout.com. Clearing your browser storage resets the anonymous identifiers described above.
